Photography and Videography Wedding Package

The confetti is swept away quickly. The speeches blur into happy noise. A parent’s face when they see you ready, the squeeze of a hand before the ceremony, and the laughter during the first dance are the moments couples most want to revisit. A photography and videography wedding package gives you two ways to hold on to them: still images to frame and share, and film that brings back the voices, movement and atmosphere.

For a full-day celebration, combining photo and film can also make planning feel simpler. Rather than coordinating separate creative teams with different ways of working, you can build coverage around one clear plan, your timeline and the parts of the day that matter most to you.

What should a photography and videography wedding package include?

There is no single package that suits every wedding. A relaxed city celebration, a church ceremony followed by a Cheshire reception, and a multi-venue day across Manchester all have different practical needs. The right coverage starts with the story you want to remember, then makes sure there is enough time and support to capture it naturally.

For photography, full-day coverage is often the best fit for couples who value a complete record. It leaves room for the quiet preparation in the morning, guests arriving, the ceremony, confetti, hugs, speeches, evening dancing and all the unscripted moments in between. You should expect professionally edited high-resolution images, delivered in a secure online gallery that is easy to view, download and share.

Video can take several forms. A highlights film is ideal if you want a beautifully edited, easy-to-watch record of the feeling of the day. A longer wedding film gives more space to the ceremony, speeches and key moments. Some couples choose hybrid coverage, where one person captures photography alongside carefully planned film footage. Others prefer a dedicated videographer or second creative professional, particularly when both partners are getting ready in different places or when a larger film is a priority.

The detail matters as much as the headline. Before booking, ask how long coverage lasts, whether travel is included, how many edited photographs are expected, what type of film you will receive, and how the final work is delivered. A clear answer helps you compare packages properly rather than simply comparing prices.

One team, hybrid coverage or separate suppliers?

This decision is less about a right answer and more about your priorities.

A combined photography and videography team can be a reassuring choice. The people documenting your day already know the schedule, understand the moments you care about and can work together without competing for space. It can feel especially calm during the ceremony, group photographs and speeches, when you do not want a large production around you.

Hybrid coverage can be a good middle ground. It is designed for couples who want natural full-day photography and a short film that captures movement and atmosphere, without bringing a larger team. The trade-off is that one person cannot photograph and film every moment at exactly the same time. Hybrid works best when expectations are clear and the day has been planned thoughtfully.

Separate photography and videography suppliers can give each medium more dedicated attention. This may be worthwhile if you want extensive preparation coverage at two locations, full ceremony and speech films, or a more ambitious cinematic edit. However, it usually costs more and means you need to make sure both suppliers have compatible approaches. Documentary-led work is at its best when everyone is comfortable sharing the room and allowing real moments to unfold.

Plan around the moments you will actually care about

A good package should not make your wedding feel like a content shoot. It should give you confidence that the important parts are covered, then leave you free to be present with the people you invited.

Start with your non-negotiables. You may care most about seeing each other during the morning preparations. Perhaps the speeches are the heart of the day, or your grandparents travelling a long way makes candid guest photographs particularly meaningful. Maybe you have planned a lively dancefloor and want the music, movement and atmosphere captured on film.

Share these priorities during your consultation. It allows your photographer and videographer to shape a realistic plan, including where they need to be and when. If you are having a first look, a receiving line after the ceremony, a confetti walk, sunset portraits or cultural traditions, mention them early. These moments do not need to be staged, but they do need time in the schedule.

For weddings with more than one venue, allow for travel, parking and the possibility that the day runs a little late. A venue visit before the wedding can be useful too, especially when light changes quickly, access is limited or there are several possible locations for relaxed couple portraits. Preparation is what makes the coverage feel unhurried on the day.

Why full-day coverage is often worth considering

It is tempting to book only the ceremony and a few hours afterwards. That can work well for a smaller celebration or if you only want the essentials. Yet the character of a wedding is often found at the edges of the timetable: someone adjusting a buttonhole, a nervous laugh before walking in, children racing around after dinner, or friends singing along long after the formalities have finished.

Full-day coverage does not mean being watched all day. It means there is space to tell the story without rushing from one must-have photograph to the next. A documentary approach is about noticing rather than directing. There will still be time for family group photographs and a few relaxed portraits, but they should fit around the celebration rather than take it over.

At AB Film & Photo, the Signature photography package starts at £1,350 and includes full-day coverage, more than 400 fully edited images, a private downloadable gallery and a pre-wedding consultation. From there, coverage can be tailored with options such as a second photographer, extra hours, a pre-wedding shoot, hybrid photo and film, or express editing where needed.

Questions to ask before you book

The best conversation is not only about cameras or editing style. It is about how the person behind the camera will fit into your day. Ask to see complete wedding galleries or full films, not just a collection of highlights. This gives you a more honest sense of consistency, low-light coverage and how the story is put together from morning to evening.

It is also sensible to ask who will be there on the day, whether they have worked at your venue or will visit beforehand, and what happens if timings change. Find out how audio is recorded for vows and speeches if film is included. Clear sound can make a huge difference to how moving a wedding video feels years later.

Finally, check the delivery process. Knowing when you can expect your gallery or film, how long it will remain available, and whether it can be downloaded in high quality removes uncertainty after the wedding. Your images should be simple to share with family, but you should also have an easy way to keep your own copies safely.

Choose coverage that feels like you

A photography and videography wedding package should give you more than a checklist of deliverables. It should give you the confidence to enjoy your day, knowing the laughter, tears, tiny details and big celebrations are being looked after with care.

Choose the level of coverage that reflects how you want to remember the day, not what looks most impressive on paper. When you feel comfortable with the person documenting it and the plan has been made around your priorities, the result is more likely to feel honest, relaxed and completely yours.
